Rocambole garlics are stocky plants with closely spaced leaves.  They have outstanding flavor which is brought out by cold winter temperatures.  They have a tendency to produce double cloves in a single clove wrapper. Doubles must be separated before planting in order to produce large bulbs.  Rocamboles are easy to peel due to loose clove wrappers, but are also subject to desiccation due to this. Rocamboles have a shorter storage life, which is offset by outstanding flavor.

Rocamboles do not tolerate overwatering.
